Judo

Its origins and general information about it

Judo is a traditional Japanese wrestling sport that developed in the 1880s. Dr. Jigoro Kano established its philosophical rules and principles, and added physical, moral, and intellectual education methods to it. He also eliminated all dangerous movements in this game. He also opened his first judo school in 1882. The word judo in Japanese means the soft way or method. Japanese judo was a combat style without weapons, but now it is considered primarily a type of sport. This sport is characterized by complex sports rules, the main goal of which is to control the opponent without causing him harm, by applying pressure on the joints of the neck or arm in order to weaken the opponent and control him completely. The uniform used in this sport is white cloth pants and a loose jacket. Jigoro preserved the classical techniques of jujutsu in judo, and judo associations were established in the countries affiliated with the International Judo Federation, which is headquartered in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
